A Heart for Orphans

i am blessed to know a wonderful couple who are preparing to adopt another child from korea. The post "I Will" BELOW is from my friend's blog http://www.sunnymama.net/ .

KNOWING THAT THERE ARE ORPHANS IN THIS WORLD BREAKS MY HEART, BUT WE CAN ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

I sit, the computer on my lap, listening to music that is filling my soul with sadness, ache, despair, looking at pictures of children, their face's full of loss, not just any children, fatherless ones. The ones that are waiting, their hope for love fading, day by day, waiting for someone to pick them up, engolf them with love. Waiting for the glimpse of hope that someone cares. Will they ever find it? Will someone, at least one, care? Through it all, the sadness in their eyes, the longing for love, I see hope. I feel it, slowly erasing the pain I feel in my chest for each little child staring back at me, piercing my heart, I see God.

The God of hope. The God that loves unconditional, who gave me life, who adopted me. He has called me, calling me, and I continue to be called to use my life to defend them. God has opened my eyes, my heart, my soul for the orphans. I can't sit here and give Satan the power of my silence. Silence is sin in my eyes when orphans are not defended, not spoken of. Who is going to speak for them, who is going to love them, care about them? I am.

Their are millions of orphans, 147, to be exact. That is not just a number, that is a child. I may not save them all but I will save. We can't pretend to not see, think that the number is to large to ever change it. How can I do anything about that number? One at a time. God left the 99 to save the 1. Just that one. That one was more important than 99. Is one more important to you? We all can do something. I know that not all are called to adopt. God gives us all spiritual gifts that are unique to us. But we are all called to do something. Give, love, care, pray. Something.

Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your heart, allow yourself to listen, be prompted. Don't allow Satan to twist your heart and mind, scare you, freeze you, keep you from stepping out and doing something. Obedience is not easy, may be down right scary, but you are not alone. The reward for obedience is overflowing joy and love from the Father. When we step out and defend our Lord, through the orphans, we can not be stopped. You will see first hand the love, true love, that God has for the children and that He has for you.

Will you give in, allow your heart to listen and hear the Holy Spirit speak? Act on it? Watch your life change? Be the voice for the ones who can not speak for themselves? Give a child eternal life? Love? I will.
