Yesterday, I made an old-time favorite. I remember my mom making these when I was young, pouring a little in bowls and eating it like warm no-bake cookie soup! Yummy!
No Bake Cookies
1 3/4 cups white sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 cups quick-cooking oats
1/4 c coconut (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Put oats and coconut in large bowl; set aside. Then, in a medium saucepan, combine sugar, milk, butter, and cocoa. Bring to a full boil, and cook for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and peanut butter. Pour over oats and coconut. Mix. Eat it as warm no-bake cookie soup, or drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper, aluminum foil or parchment paper. Let cool until hardened. Makes a sweet treat for breakfast!
I first fell in love with these dream boats when I was in the 4th grade! Now my grandmother makes them all the time! mmm they are so good!
