No-Bake Cookies

Yesterday, I made an old-time favorite. I remember my mom making these when I was young, pouring a little in bowls and eating it like warm no-bake cookie soup! Yummy!

 No Bake Cookies
1 3/4 cups white sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 cups quick-cooking oats
1/4 c coconut (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Put oats  and coconut in large bowl; set aside. Then, in a medium saucepan, combine sugar, milk, butter, and cocoa. Bring to a full boil, and cook for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and peanut butter. Pour over oats and coconut. Mix. Eat it as warm no-bake cookie soup, or drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper, aluminum foil or parchment paper. Let cool until hardened. Makes a sweet treat for breakfast!

  1. I first fell in love with these dream boats when I was in the 4th grade! Now my grandmother makes them all the time! mmm they are so good!

  2. One of my favorites. Going to try them with coconut. Sounds delish! I miss you! :(
