Springtime is for Joy

I love spring and open windows! I love fresh air and getting rid of dusty, musty, stale stuff. I love new things and blooming flowers. Spring is an incredible time to clean and de-clutter, not just in our homes but also in our spirits. What are you holding onto from yesterday, last month, or last year? Hurt? Envy? Bitterness? How much cleaner will your heart be if you allow the Lord to sweep it clean?
Springtime is not only a great time for new smells in our homes, but also for new aromas with our attitudes. Just like the refreshing feeling you get from smelling all the fresh air in your home, flooding in through open windows, is the fresh attitude of a clean heart.
I encourage you to do some spring cleaning on the inside. Spend a beautiful spring day with the Lord taking inventory. Decide with His leading what to keep and what to toss. Many of our feelings and emotions are not healthy. Many things need to be handed over to Him to deal with. We need some cleansing to make our hearts a clean place. Those clean heart feelings will will overflow into our attitudes, and eventually the atmosphere of our homes.
A clean home and a clean heart are places of joy!
